Strong winter storm moving through the Pacific NW today. Heavy rain at times and wind gusts up to 50mph for the Coast. High surf advisory for the beaches as well. Breezy for Portland and elsewhere in the Willamette Valley.

High temps for Portland and the Willamette Valley this afternoon about 45-50. A bit cooler tomorrow. Snow levels falling tonight to between 1-2 thousand feet. That might mean a dusting of some snow for the West Hills, higher elevations in Lake Oswego, Bull Mountain near Tigard and Cooper Mountain neighborhoods in southern Beaverton.

Expect lots of Cascade snow with near-whiteout conditions for the passes themselves. And accumulations are likely in the Cascade Foothills, Coast Range Mountains, Willapa Hills and Central/Eastern Oregon.

Still soggy and chilly over the rest of the weekend. The beginning of next week looks a bit soggy as well.
