Fog and clouds start out the day west of the Cascades -- but that's not how it's going to be all day. Friday looking quite beautiful in the afternoon with mostly to partly sunny skies across the whole region. Some gorge winds picking up this afternoon and evening. That will keep the fog away east of I-205 at night and tomorrow morning. Groundhog Day looks to be dry and, if you’re near the gorge winds, a shadow for the groundhog and 6 more weeks of winter. But at the Oregon Zoo, where they ask their resident hedgehog (yes, a hedgehog) about when winter will end — I think it will be foggy enough to call for an early spring in the NW.
It’s still winter in the mountains though. And great skiing and boarding weather in the Cascades -- just remember the sunscreen, you'll need it. The weekend is trending nearly totally dry -- only a few sprinkles for Sunday AM — and it looks like only for the Coastal areas and Cascade Foothills. Next real rain looks to be Tuesday with some passing showers. High temps for the next few days around 50, lows around 40. Enjoy!
