You've seen the unique red house that is completely surrounded by water while driving on I-95. But, you can actually tour the newly restored New London Ledge Lighthouse that underwent a major facelift after it's 100th anniversary in 2009.
Chipped paint and broken windows were replaced by museum-style exhibits and photographs, thanks to many hours donated by volunteers of the New London Ledge Lighthouse Foundation.
Check out this DayTrippers video for a look through the landmark beacon which features a room dedicated to it's infamous ghostly legend.
Project Oceanology will take visitors by boat from UCONN's Avery Point campus to the lighthouse on September 15th, 22nd and 29th at 4pm.
