Riding the rail to railroad town

Since the first train came in 1851, Galesburg has been a railroad town. Carl Sandburg's father worked for the Burlington shops, and today the BNSF Railway Co. is the city's largest employer. As many as 200 trains a day pass through the town on seven main lines.
