Canada: Alberta's northern lights put on a show in the sky
Northern lights, also known as the aurora borealis or aurora polaris, generally occur in high latitudes. In Roman mythology, Aurora was the goddess of dawn, and indeed, at times the lights create such a glow in the sky that it almost seems like daylight. Because it's so remote, Alberta has what many consider ideal conditions for viewing both the northern lights and for stargazing.
