The new ships from Norwegian Cruise Line will be named Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway, the Miami-based company announced Tuesday.
The names were chosen from 230,000 entries submitted to a contest sponsored by the cruise line and USA Today.
Winners are Kimberly Powell of Lafayette, Louisiana, who first submitted the name Norwegian Breakaway, and Dennis Hultman of Vienna, Virginia, who first suggested Norwegian Getaway.
They will each get a trip for two to the inaugural festivities for Norwegian Breakaway, which launches in April of 2013. Norwegian Getaway debuts a year later.
At least one of the names is already familiar to the company, which had been calling the ships "Project Breakaway."
