SAN DIEGO - SeaWorld San Diego revealed the car Tuesday which will run on its manta ray-themed roller coaster, which is under construction.
The San Diego Manta coaster ride will have a double-launch feature and have a 54-foot maximum drop, SeaWorld officials said.
An aquarium with nearly 500 fish native to the California coast will be on display for riders and non-riders. Guests will have a chance to touch and feed manta rays swimming in a grotto.
Engineers from MACK Rides, a roller coaster design company from Germany, have been working with SeaWorld to the project. The company also engineered the park's Journey To Atlantis ride.
SeaWorld's sister park in Orlando opened a similar version of the coaster in 2009.
Manta is scheduled to open May 2012.
