LA HABRA, Calif. (KTLA) -- "Octomom" Nadya Suleman only raised about $2,600 dollars at a weekend yard sale, falling short of the $10,000 she had hoped to collect.
The yard sale and online auction at her Madonna Lane home in La Habra Saturday morning was held to help raise money to pay her mortgage.
It drew so many people that police had to close the street off to traffic, but apparently it wasn't enough.
The mother of 14 had hoped to sell items like the bikini she wore on the cover of a tabloid magazine, an autographed nursing bra, signed sonogram, a diaper bag signed "Octomom" and the octuplets handprints and baby blankets.
She did manage to sell a sofa on which Suleman was sitting when she found out that she was going to have octuplets.
Someone paid $150 dollars for it.
Others paid to pose for photos with the famous "Octomom" and her children.
Suleman faces foreclosure if she can't meet a balloon mortgage payment of $450,000 on Oct. 9.
Radio personality Tattoo, with the Rick Dee's morning Internet Top 40 show Tattoo and Crew, helped hold the sale and auction.
The auction was streamed live on UStream.tv, with Tattoo giving a play by play of the items up for auction.
All items were being made available online on eBay "for fans around the world to make their bids."
Raymond Powell, who purchased an autographed Lakers jersey once worn by Suleman, told KTLA he doesn't mind helping out, as long as the children benefit from the sale.
"I understand that she needs the money for the kids and if the money really is going to the kids I don't mind giving money," Powell said.
Suleman says money is tight, but she's also trying to clear out her toy-filled home.
"We're struggling but at the same time we're really reducing any excess. So that's where all the toys come in. We're selling toys, any kind of anything that can be used that we don't use anymore," Suleman said.
"Octomom" is scheduled to make an appearance this weekend for money and may try her hand at guest hosting on a radio show.
Suleman claims that she only has a week's worth of money left and will do "everything she can" to avoid going on welfare.
Radar reports that Suleman wrote a book, but no publishers have expressed interest in buying it.
A reality TV show about raising 14 kids has also apparently fizzled.
She has also been given several offers from VIVID entertainment to star in a porn film -- the latest offer was reportedly for $500,000 -- but Suleman has refused.
Suleman gave birth to octuplets -- six boys and two girls -- on Jan. 26, 2009.
She also has six older children -- all the result of in-vitro fertilization.
