The 2011 and 2012 Sonata Hybrid are among the models for which Hyundai says it overstated the fuel-economy estimates. Gas-only Sonata models are not affected, and the 2013 Sonata Hybrid wasn't on sale when Hyundai made its announcement.
Hyundai's original estimates for the 2011 and 2012 Sonata Hybrid were 35/40mpg city/highway. Those numbers have been reduced to 34/39.
The complete list of Hyundai and related Kia models that have received lower fuel-economy estimates covers about 900,000 vehicles.
