Automakers hope to turn tide with fun, practical, fuel-efficient models

Smaller vehicles that offer ever-better fuel economy, pleasing practicality and even a little fun is a major theme for 2012 models. These new models ought to make people feel a little better after a year that included a huge earthquake in Japan, a struggling U.S. economy, raging budget battles in Congress and gas prices that temporarily got way too close to $4 a gallon. Here's 10 highlights of the newest offerings from automakers this season.
