Rapids Water Park
Where: 6566 N. Military Trail, Riviera Beach
Features: This privately operated park covers 25 acres and features 29 water slides. Also: a wave pool, interactive fountains, water flumes, a river tubing ride and other features. In terms of attractions, it's similar to Disney water parks.
Note: Wear traditional swim attire. No denim shorts, thongs or G-strings allowed.
Admission: $31.95 plus tax, per person, Monday-Friday; $34.95 plus tax Saturday-Sunday. Children under 2, free.
Best for: Older kids who have outgrown the water playgrounds at smaller parks. Rapids has a play/wading pool for toddlers and preschoolers, but you can find those at smaller parks for less money.
Kids' pick: The thrill rides, including Big Thunder, where you soar super fast in a four-person tube, and Pirate's Plunge, with enough dips and turns to cover seven stories.
Food: Hamburgers, chicken, pizza, hot dogs; nachos; ice cream; soft drinks.
Restrictions: Height and weight restrictions vary by ride. No outside food or drinks, glass containers or alcoholic beverages. Coolers are allowed in the shaded picnic areas outside the park entrance.
Extras: Lockers ($5 to rent with $5 deposit), restrooms and life vests (available at no charge).
Hours: 10 a.m. to dusk, about 7:30 p.m., daily
