LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- New Laker Steve Nash quenched his thirst for a cold one with a little help from fans who gave him a unique welcome gift.

Nash posted a video on his Twitter account Saturday after a friendly, but also kind of dangerous move, on one of L.A.'s freeways.

A carload of fans were to thrilled to spot him they offered him a beer.

The hand-off required a little tricky maneuvering to align the cars as they sped down the freeway.

But Nash proved he had the skills on court and off, easily snagging a Keystone Light.

"The fans have been pretty good so far," Steve says at the end of the video.

The guys who offered Nash the beer say they were headed to a Dodger game Friday when one of them spotted Nash in the next lane riding in the back of a taxi.

"Talk about great hands, Nash snatched that [beer] like nobody's business," they tweeted.
