PORTLAND, Ore. -- It's not your typical lost and found post: Portland Police say an unidentified snake was found wandering in the streets of downtown Portland Thursday morning and the owner was nowhere to be found.
The snake was found at Southwest 5th Avenue and Market Street. According to officers, a caller reported that the snake was approximately 3 feet long, brown with tan markings, and that it "looked scared."
Officers got the snake into a plastic tub and Animal Control later took custody of the snake.
Officers do know that the snake is not native to Downtown Portland, but they don't know how the snake got to Southwest 5th and Market or who owns the snake.
Anyone who knows the snake owner should contact Animal Control.
