Joffrey Ballet's 'The Nutcracker'
It's that most wonderful time of the year -- for Joffrey Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker." This is the 25th year, and much of the re-imagined "Nutcracker" Robert Joffrey created in 1987 that celebrates American Christmas traditions is intact.
Why go: If it ain't broke ... The Chicago Philharmonic will provide the Tchaikovsky score, with a children's cast of more than 100 young dancers and singers from the Chicagoland area joining the Joffrey ensemble. Reconsider: Either you're down with "The Nutcracker" or you're not. Friday through Dec. 27 at Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Congress Parkway; $31-$132; 800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com |
