ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, Nj. (KTLA) -- Skippy parent company Unilever announced a recall of certain batches of its popular peanut butter for possible Salmonella contamination, the FDA said Friday.
The limited recall of Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread and Skippy Reduced Fat Super Chunk Peanut Butter Spread was initiated after a sample of the batch came up positive for a strain of salmonella bacteria.
The recall applies only to these branded items distributed in Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
